One of our local museums St Fagans, has been named the UK’s Museum of the Year. Recently undergoing a £30 million redevelopment the museum has beaten stiff competition from the likes of the V&A Dundee and the HMS Caroline Belfast to scoop a £100,000 Art Fund prize. St Fagans has been commended for “living, breathing and embodying the culture of Wales”.
The open-air museum is a unique offering, showcasing 40 historical buildings which chart the history of Wales. Each building is meticulously deconstructed from sites across the country and reconstructed within the museums 100 acre grounds. This completely distinctive experience allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in key periods of Welsh history.
Being an iconic local attraction to all of us here at Creative Spaces, we’re proud that St Fagans has got the recognition it deserves. Visiting as children or with our children, we all appreciate how the museum showcases the diversity of our unique country. Congratulations to the team at St Fagans!
